MOVIE REVIEWS: 88 Minutes and 27 Dresses

Great movies, both.

Connie and I enjoyed them as a respite of spending time without immeidate family.  It was a good day with all other activities we did, leading up to some great movie viewing.

Al Pacino is convincing, as always, in his role as Dr. Jack Gramm in 88 Minutes.  Like a pinata, the movie sets it up, with some hit and miss bangers against it, only to be hit hard near the end.  Just when you expect the treats to come pouring out, they linger, holding you to the grand finale of an outpouring of treats.  EXCELLENT, way underrated movie!

Katherine Heigl delivers an exceptionally repressed performance in the charmer that is attactive to both genders in 27 Dresses.  Much like many of us, she holds it all in until she can contain it no more.  The movie flows nicely and the fireworks come at the end.
