Honestly, a time limit of 6 weeks at best, 6 months at worst should be longest anyone has to endure such a presidential campaign. At the rate we are going, we'll start having presidential campaigns and projected winners before the next president ever gets sworn into the White House. Good grief!
And, pray tell, how in the world did we wind up with the two candidates we have now? A voter lack of knowledge, care, etc.? Lord, have mercy.
Obama, on free reign, has collected nearly 1/2 billion dollars to get elected to a job that pays, what, $200K a year - four ten-thousandths percent of what is raised in the campaign (uh, yeah, right)? C'mon, give me (us?) a break! Oh, yeah, McCain has collected what he can under the federal election give-away. To be honest, neither campaign is broke. Obama is more likely to be than McCain. Cindy's got money to give to Johnny, whereas Michelle, with her mind-boggling salary can never match it. If a common man wanted to run for president, it could never happen under today's circumstances ... the anti-thesis of what it used to be that made this country 'right'.
